    The Day Baby Cayto was Born

     

    Stuff needed or/for Confinement

    1) Da Feng Cao - Herbal water use for daily bathing
    Method: To boil and let it warm. Never add cold water to cool it.
    Smell: like grass jelly
    Price: S$3.50 for a big pack consist of 2 small packs
     
     
    2) Breastmilk Storage Bags
    This is the cheapest among all brand (if you are a cost saving person like me)
    Storage:
    Room Temperature - 4 hours
    Refrigerator - 48 hours
    Freezer - 3 to 6 months
     
      
    3) Pigeon Electric Breast Pump
    This is a MUST have thing if you are going to breastfeed.
    My advice is never ever get the manual breast pump. I tried the manual breast pump and it is totally waste of money. You will used up all your strength and only little bit of milk are pumped out unlike the electric pump which saves you the time and energy.
     
     
    4) Super Long Laurier Pads
    Cheap, long and wide pads that you will not need to worry getting stains.

     
    5) Pyjamas or Clothing that can covers you well
    I got no choice but to wear these so "old school" pyjamas which were bought by my mother-in-law.
      
     
    6) Pigeon Sterilizer & Bottle Stand
    Good for sterilizing milk bottles and breast pump accessories.
     

    Process of Labor

     I was still wondering how does contraction feels like and on 22nd July 6pm onwards, I started to feel a kind of "pulling" cramp pain at my lower abdominal.
    Doctor advise to monitor the pain if its come every 5 minutes and each pain last about 1-2 minutes.
    So I monitor while enduring the pain and also waiting for my hubby to be back.
    Around 7pm, I confirmed that I'm going to deliver soon.
    8pm - reached KK hospital delivery suite and was brought in to do the 1 hour scan to monitor the contraction (means I got to endure another hour of pain again!!)
    9pm - Doctor confirmed that I'm ready for delivery so I was being pushed via wheelchair to the delivery ward. My below was open about 4-5cm and have to wait for hours for it to open till 8-10cm before I can PUSH!! While waiting and I'm still in pain, finally the nurse came to ask me if I need my painkiller (epidural) now? Still dare to say I'm very good at enduring pain never come request epidural from them. I was like -_-!! I didn't know I could request to have my epidural as soon as I need it. URGH!!!
    12am - Finally it was open till 8cm and I can start pushing my baby out. It was a painless labor as the epidural works very well on me. I feel so numb that the only thing I can do is just PUSH!!
    1 plus am - POOOOHHH!! Out comes my baby boy
     
     
      
     I got a evil hubby that can ask me to smile to take photo while I in great pain. And every time my contraction came, he will laugh happily at me cause I'm being torture. >.<

    Skin to Skin

    It was so amazing that this little one came out from me and unknowing I became a MUM.
    It really feels so good having your baby lying naked on you. You can really feel the contact between each other. WOW WOW WOW

    This little boy of mine, sleep tends to make so much noises and so many patterns sleeping style.
    See his facial expression can really makes my day.
